Saturday’s Kaiser Permanente Colfax 5K in Denver will feature a team running to raise funds for cancer care.
A team representing EmbodiWorks, a non-profit group supporting integrative cancer care, will run the race in Denver’s City Park, EmbodiWorks spokeswoman Jeannine Watson said in a news release.
The registration fee for the race is $30, and runners can recruit others to raise money for the group.
Triathlete and personal trainer Kris Skiles will lead the EmbodiWorks team in pre-race warm-ups and stretching. The team will run the 5K together in groups or runners can participate at their own pace.
National Cancer Institute statistics show that nearly half of Americans will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetimes.
