A pair of burrowing owls in a southeast Boulder County prairie dog colony has prompted the county to close part of the Cradleboard Trail through the Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at the Rock Creek Farm Open Space area, the Longmont Times-Call reported. The nest is within a meter of a segment of the hiking trail between Brainard Drive and South 104th Street.
