Video from a neighbor’s surveillance camera could help police track down a hit and run driver.
Eric Aguilar, 10, was playing with a group of friends near his home on the 100 block of South Irving Street Friday evening at 8:09 p.m.
Video from three surveillance cameras on Nicol Ocampo’s home shows Aguilar running into the street as another child chased him. Ocampo installed the cameras after a vehicle was stolen from her home.
“I hope it helps them find who did this to Eric,” Ocampo said.
A dark sedan, which police estimate was traveling 30 to 40 mph in a 25 mph zone, hit Aguilar and tossed the boy several feet.
Denver police say another driver followed the dark sedan, believed to be a Dodge Neon or Chevy Malibu. That driver was able to get a partial Colorado license plate number, which begins with 357.
