GREELEY, Colo.—A northern Colorado woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the deaths of a Wyoming couple killed in a head-on car crash last Memorial Day.
The Greeley Tribune reports that Weld County District Judge Julie Hoskins sentenced 26-year-old Landra Fabrizius Monday to five years each for the deaths of Stephen and Patricia Smith of Cheyenne.
Authorities say Fabrizius was passing another car at 80 mph east of Windsor when the accident happened. She had received several tickets through the years for speeding and driving without a license and got her license back only two months before the accident that killed the Smiths last year.
Authorities say Fabrizius got another speeding ticket while awaiting trial on two counts of vehicular homicide.
