AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.—Some of the high-tech warriors of the future are waging a low-tech battle of dodge ball in hopes of getting into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Air Force Academy officials say the entire student body of about 4,000 cadets is expected to square off in two teams for a game of dodge ball on Wednesday on the campus north of Colorado Springs.

The Guinness website says the current record for the largest dodge ball game was set in February by 2,012 people at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.

An Air Force Academy spokesman says the idea to challenge the record came from a couple of cadets, whom he didn’t identify.
