Golden firefighters rescued a 50-year- old Denver man Tuesday afternoon after he fell more than 40 feet in Clear Creek Canyon.
The man’s name was not released. He was airlifted to a hospital, but his condition was not available.
He was not wearing a helmet, according to the Golden Fire Department.
He fell at about 2:30 p.m., and nearby U.S. 6 was closed between Colorado 119 and the interchange of Colorado 93 and 58 for nearly three hours for the complicated rescue.
He was climbing near the highway east of Tunnel 2 when he fell.
