The former executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver has been named to lead the Bridge of Life, a non-profit organization devoted to bringing life-saving dialysis to people in developing countries.
Lori Vaclavik, most recently vice president of Development and Community Relations for Project C.U.R.E., will oversee all of Bridge of Life operations, including partner selection, fundraising, mission success and partner sustainability.
Bridge of Life-DaVita Medical Missions, is a non-profit organization founded by Denver-based DaVita, Inc.
The Bridge of Life works with local partners to establish dialysis facilities, train local staff and pre-screen local residents for chronic kidney disease.
Vaclavik, named Bridge of Life’s executive director, will organize better access to care for chronic kidney disease and end stage renal patients in developing countries.
“I can imagine few things more important than helping people lead healthy and productive lives,” said Vaclavik. “That’s why it is such an honor to join the Bridge of Life team and their mission to bring life-saving kidney care to people in underserved communities throughout the world.”
During her 12-year tenure at Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, Vaclavik was selected as “National Affiliate of the Year” from more than 1,200 affiliates.
