Local fashion-industry leaders will help other style creators jump-start their careers with a Diamond Series of design workshops to be held the last Saturday of each month, beginning May 28 at the I Heart Denver Store in the Denver Pavilions. Presented by the Denver Design Incubator, the workshops will be taught by such local fashion creatives as Matthew Brown from Fancy Tiger Clothing, Brandi Shigley of Fashion Denver and Rick Griffith of Matter LLC.

The DDI workshops are geared to fashion entrepreneurs who want to learn technical and business skills. Topics include:

“Fashion Design Sketching and Design Concepts” by Carol Enright, 2-6 p.m. May 28. Class is limited to eight people. Bring your own sketchbook and other sketching materials.

“Do What You Love, and Love What You Do” by Brandi Shigley, above, 2-3:30 p.m., June 25. Class limit: 10, geared to artists and designers who want to start a business.

“Presenting Your Work to the Local Retail Market,” a panel by Matthew Brown, Rustin Coburn and Samuel Schimek, 2-4:30 p.m. July 30. Class limit: 10. Instructors will talk about what they look for when selecting products, the ins and outs of pricing, and best practices for presenting goods.

“Communicating Your Brand,” a primer by Rick Griffith, 2-5 p.m. Aug. 27. Class limit: 10. Bring existing materials for a critique and feedback, or ideas you are trying to develop.
