LOS ANGELES — Andre Ethier was photographed making obscene gestures this week and Dodgers manager Don Mattingly has talked with the outfielder about it.
“I talked to Andre about it, and we’re going to handle it internally,” Mattingly said Thursday. “It’s more of a family problem than anything else.”
During batting practice before a game against the Brewers, Ethier was snapped flipping his middle fingers at a photographer. He said the photographer was distracting.
“Sometimes that temper you have all written about me (having) gets the best of me,” said Ethier, who entered Thursday night’s game against the Giants in a 0-for-17 drought.
• The Dodgers placed closer Vicente Padilla on the 15-day disabled list because of radial nerve irritation in his forearm, and recalled Ramon Troncoso from Triple-A Albuquerque.
