I’m always looking for a better USB car charger, one that won’t get in my way or come loose in the car socket, interrupting the charge. Scosche’s powerPLUG Low-profile USB Car Charger for iPad solves both problems, and brings some extra oomph for charging power-hungry devices like the iPad (hence, the name) faster. The charger is designed to fit flush in the vehicle’s power socket, so nothing sticks out to loosen or to hog space. The 2.1-amp circuitry provides speedier charging than the typical 1-amp car charger. Scosche also makes a good dual car charger, the reVIVE II, with both one amp and 2.1-amp ports for charging two devices simultaneously, but it’s not as unobtrusive as the Low-profile car charger.
