The state championships for four high school sports will be shown live this spring season.
The Colorado High School Activities Association released its broadcast schedule for this week, and for the first time, track and swimming will join the fold.
CHSAA plans to show 10 events from the track and field championships — all running events — from Jeffco Stadium in Lakewood through Saturday. And all preliminaries and finals from the Class 4A and 5A swim meets will be shown today and Saturday.
Each classification of girls soccer will be broadcast from Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The 3A final is Tuesday, with the 4A and 5A finals Wednesday.
The 5A baseball semifinals (Friday) and final (May 28) are also scheduled to be broadcast, as is the 4A final, which is May 28.
Schedule changes.
Colorado’s wet weather continued to play tricks on the state’s high school tournaments Thursday.
CHSAA moved the first two days of the Class 3A baseball tournament from today and Saturday to Saturday and Monday because of wet field conditions in Greeley.
A CHSAA official confirmed that the fields wouldn’t be dry in time for games scheduled to start at 10 a.m. today. Because five of the eight qualifying teams have graduations scheduled for Sunday, there won’t be back-to- back days of games, as originally scheduled. Classes 5A and 4A still have back- to-back days scheduled.
