ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo.—The bodies of two Colorado men who died this past week in a Wyoming plane crash have been recovered.
The Sweetwater County Sheriff’s department says crews on Saturday retrieved the remains of pilot Gilmer Mickey of Englewood, Colo., and Bob Albert of Fort Collins, Colo. Both men were 55 years old.
They were killed when their single-engine Bellanca Model 17-30A crashed in Sweetwater County about 45 miles north of Rock Springs.
The crash was located Thursday but officials were initially unable to remove the bodies because of bad weather and a lack of specialized equipment.
The Federal Aviation Administration has begun an investigation into the crash, and officials say the process could take weeks or even months.
