Getting your player ready...
Concern about Todd Helton’s back eased with his start Sunday, his first in three days. He showed no limitations with his swing, though his back remains a little stiff. With the Rockies idle today, he should have no issue starting at least one game in Tuesday’s doubleheader. Helton went 0-for-4, yet is hitting .310 on the road.
Blunt bunt talk.
The Rockies continue to struggle with their sacrifice bunting. And it’s not just with pitchers. Dexter Fowler popped up to first base in the fifth inning, failing to move Alfredo Amezaga.
Lights out.
The Brewers’ bullpen has posted 1.74 ERA since May 11, and closer John Axford has converted nine consecutive saves.
