PHILADELPHIA — Phillies second baseman Chase Utley (knee tendinitis) will be activated off the 15-day disabled list before today’s game against the Reds.
The Phillies will also place right-hander Joe Blanton (elbow) on the DL and recall righty Vance Worley. Infielder Pete Orr was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Ethier, Barajas leave game.
The injuries are piling up for the Dodgers. Andre Ethier has a bruised right elbow, a bruised lower back and a sprained left toe after colliding with the right-field wall. Catcher Rod Barajas was injured when the White Sox’s Juan Pierre scored while sliding feet first, catching Barajas with his spikes. Barajas sprained his right wrist.
Before the game, the Dodgers activated Rafael Furcal from the 15-day DL and placed Juan Uribe (stained left hip flexor) on the DL.

Los Angeles police charged Giovanni Ramirez, 31, with assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held on $1 million bail in connection with the March 31 beating of Giants fan Brian Stow outside Dodger Stadium.
• Rangers outfielders Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz will be activated off the DL for today’s game against the White Sox.
• The Cubs placed outfielder Marlon Byrd on the 15-day DL with multiple facial fractures, a day after he was beaned in the left eye by a pitch, and recalled right-hander Justin Berg.
• Cardinals catcher Gerald Laird broke the index finger on his right hand when he was hit by a pitch Sunday.
• Braves right-hander Tim Hudson returned to Atlanta to have his back examined and is expected to miss his start Wednesday at Pittsburgh. Lefty Mike Minor will be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to make his 10th big- league start.
• Indians rookie Alex White (1-0, 3.60 ERA) will be sidelined at least two months with a sprained ligament in his right middle fingers.
