The playing careers of Dee and Caroline Cryer stretched across almost 40 years. Dee, Caroline’s mother, played on the inaugural girls team at Thayer Academy, a prep school in Massachusetts. Dee continued at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn.
Here’s a breakdown of Caroline’s accomplishments in the sport:
• Three-time lacrosse state champion at Cherry Creek High School
• The Denver Post’s female athlete of the year in 2004
• Member of the 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference champions and a four- time Final Four participant while playing at Duke (2005-08)
• Member of the U.S. national team (2007-11)
