Denver International Airport reports that the summer travel season appears to have begun with an influx of travelers over the past week.
Airlines at DIA say they are expecting 1,043,307 passengers to come through the airport between Tuesday and Monday. During the same week last year, 1,059,504 travelers passed through the airport.
Today will be the busiest day of the holiday week, with 169,511 passengers expected. Friday will be a close second, with an estimated 168,539 passengers.
