Boulder police today released a sketch of a man who attempted to abduct three elementary-school-aged boys Monday.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
The boys told police they had gotten off the school bus near Ninth Street and Mapleton Avenue just before 3 p.m., when the man approached them and asked them to go to Denver with him.
He allegedly grabbed one of the boys by the arm, but he was able to get free and all three ran away.
They initially said he had shoulder-length dreadlocks, but Boulder police said today that “after further investigation, detectives have determined that the man has close-cut dark hair, not dreadlocks.”
The man was wearing a yellow, blue and gray striped shirt, black pants and black sneakers and was driving a green Jeep with a black top.
“Police would like to speak to this man and find out why he was having a conversation with the children, and why he allegedly grabbed one of them,” the department said in a media release.
