Boulder police arrested a 40-year-old man this afternoon in connection with the attempted abduction of three young boys Monday after the suspect first was taken into custody following a disturbance at the Carriage House day shelter in downtown Boulder.
Officers arrested Lwanga Basudde on suspicion of harassment, third-degree trespassing and disorderly conduct after police said he refused to leave the Carriage House premises at 11th and Pine streets, and employees reported feeling threatened by his words and actions, according to Boulder police.
During their investigation into that incident, officers recognized Basudde as a possible suspect from the attempted abduction.
The attempted abduction was reported Monday by the three boys who said a black man approached them as they got off a school bus and tried to entice them into going to Denver with him.
