CENTENNIAL, Colo.—The Colorado Army National Guard is seeing off a team that is deploying to Afghanistan to help train an Afghan Army battalion.
A departure ceremony is planned at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Colorado National Guard Joint Force Headquarters in Centennial. The third Operational Mentor and Liaison Team will join soldiers from the Republic of Slovenia to train Afghan soldiers in security over the next year.
The Guard’s first team returned last weekend from Afghanistan and the second is currently serving overseas.
