BOULDER, Colo.—A 22-year-old man is recovering after he fell while rock climbing in Boulder Canyon.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office says University of Colorado student Reid Pletcher suffered cuts on his back and head Thursday after falling about 30 feet.

According to the Denver Post, Pletcher was climbing when two anchors gave way from the rock face. The sheriff’s office said Pletcher was not wearing a helmet.

Pletcher was taken to St. Anthony Central Hospital where he was in stable condition.
