Thieves swiped several laptop computers from the public defender’s office early Thursday morning in Colorado Springs.
The incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. in the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender, 19 Tejon St., according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.
An employee working late heard sounds in the office and then saw a man running down a hall to an exit, police said. The employee, who called police for help, spotted a second man in the office who also fled.
Officers checked the building but no suspects were found.
On Thursday morning when staff arrived for work it was determined that several laptops were missing.
