I lived above a bar in Florida onceand inside it had a sign that read “ABSOLUTELY NO DANCING ON THE BAR!” So, of course, about once an hour, two dozen people would jump on the bar and dance.

That’s the kind of sign Francois Safieddine should put up in Chloe, the lounge/garden/discotheque he’ll open at 1445 Market St. in July. It’s going in the former Ruth’s Chris space.

He actually wants people to dance on the sturdy furniture that was built to take the punishment. “It’s what’s happening now,” he tells me. “It’s part of the club culture in Vegas. People want to be seen.”

The club will feature what he’s calling a “mezze lounge” — an airy bar with a Lebanese-tinged menu. Windows open onto a patio with tables, next to a large, open-air garden with a fire pit and fountain.

The disco is behind the bar and opens in the evening for dancing. The centerpiece of the disco is an LED screen, 22 feet by 11 feet, that won’t be showing baseball.

Chloe is a fictional Denver socialite, and this will be her club, her hangout for her chic friends. Through a few billboards and magazine ads, she already has 4,100 friends on Facebook and 1,122 followers on Twitter. And she doesn’t even exist!

Safieddine is not looking to cannibalize his nearby Suite 200 nightclub. He wants an older crowd here, people from Second Home and Elway’s — who will like the lounge and the garden and — who knows? — maybe even dance on a table.

Let it slide.

The party is a benefit for men’s health programs, billed as “Food, Drink & Fire — The Fastest Way To A Man’s Heart.”

Chefs include Jamey Fader from Lola, Matt Selby from Steuben’s, Sean Yontz from El Diablo and Tyler Wiard from Elway’s.

Vroooooom.

Everyone asks me what dad really wants for Father’s Day. I know. He wants a recliner. Trust me on this.

But if he has one already, he might like a few spins around the track in some pricey race cars. Rides on the track, sometimes solo, sometimes with an instructor, go for $200 in an F2000 Race Car to $25 for a ride in a go-kart. In between are a Shelby Mustang, Lotus Elise, Lamborghini Diablo, Spyker C8 and a Corvette Z06.
