Denver-based Molson Coors Brewing Co. says it is launching Carling, one of its main European beer brands, in Ukraine. The Carling introduction is being made through a commercial joint venture with Obolon Co., a Ukrainian brewer.
Carling will be offered in 500-milliliter bottles in grocery stores, bars and neighborhood stores across Ukraine. Molson Coors and Obolon will jointly manage marketing and distribution. Obolon will brew and package Carling.
“As the second-largest beer market in Eastern Europe, the Ukraine presents an excellent opportunity for us to expand our global footprint in emerging markets,” said Kandy Anand, president of Molson Coors International.
Obolon has a 27 percent market share in Ukraine beer sales. Steve Raabe, The Denver Post
