Despite rising temperatures this weekend, Aspen Mountain should still have a base of 54 inches of snow, enough for skiing another weekend,

The mountain was open on Memorial Day for the first time since 1995, and skiing will last as long as the snow does, according to the Aspen Skiing Co.

The winter sport could be enjoyed with summertime temperatures. Aspen’s could see daytime highs near 77 degrees Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Twenty-five runs and 136 acres of mostly intermediate terrain, served by the Ajax Express chairlift, will be open Saturday and Sunday.

The Silver Queen Gondola will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the last ride going down at 4:30 p.m.

Aspen/Snowmass Premier, Premier Silver and 6-and-under passes for last season are still valid holders, with discounts for other passholders.
