DENVER—A preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for a former Marine suspected of sexually assaulting woman at Denver International Airport.

Twenty-six-year-old Noel Bertrand of Portland, Ore., appeared in court Thursday looked straight ahead during a hearing. A judge rescheduled his hearing for July 14.

Bertrand has been charged with one count each of sexual assault and kidnapping.

Bertrand was accused of assaulting a 22-year-old woman just after midnight April 12 after she missed a flight. Authorities say they struck up a conversation at an airport restaurant before he attacked her at nearby gate. They say airline employees saw the assault through a window and intervened.

Bertrand served in the Marines from 2003 to 2009. He served as a security guard and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
