DENVER—Authorities now say an 8-year-old girl abducted by a man in a van and later found at a gas station was sexually assaulted.
The FBI Friday joined the investigation and search for the suspect. Up to $12,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Police say the girl was in an alleyway with an 11-year-old boy Thursday when a man in a white cargo van with no windows started talking to them and took the girl. Police say the girl was found about 90 minutes later at a gas station three miles away.
The suspect is described as white with short brown hair and green or hazel eyes. He had two tattoos on his upper right arm, including the letters “SS.’
