Lil Wayne’s story — from humble New Orleans beginnings to multiplatinum albums, Grammys and legal troubles — reads like the textbook rock-star arc. But his jittery musical genius and prolific ways will likely be his legacy, and he’s set to reinforce them with this year’s “Tha Carter IV.” His “I Am Still Music” tour just added a second leg, including an Aug. 30 show at Comfort Dental Amphitheatre as part of KS 107.5’s Back to Skool Jam. Tickets for the show, with Rick Ross, Keri Hilson, Far East Movement and Lloyd, are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($29.75-$89.75, Ticketmaster)
Phish phans: Don’t forget that the public on-sale for the jam band’s massive Sept. 2-4 shows at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park are available at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($47.50- $60 or $70 three-day camping passes; TicketHorse)
Blink-182, My Chemical Romance and Rancid should give all manner of pop-punk fans something to look forward to for Channel 93.3’s Big Gig on Sept. 4 at Comfort Dental. Tickets for the all-ages show, with more artists to be announced, are on sale at 10 a.m. June 11. ($19-$63, Ticketmaster)
Incubus is often mislabeled as standard- bearer alt-metal, but the California act is an eclectic pop band at heart. Witness its string of not-so-rocking singles, including “Promises, Promises,” from the new album “If Not Now, When?” Of course, there’s nothing wrong with mid-tempo piano ballads, right? Tickets for Incubus’ Aug. 17 concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($54.50-$59.75, Ticketmaster)
“Yo Gabba Gabba Live!” is a stage show based on the hip Nickelodeon program. It was already a cult phenomenon among indie-rock-loving parents and their kids. But after the TV program’s Emmy nominations and its best-selling CDs and DVDs, the live version went international — including Australian shows this week and next. It’s returning to 50 North American cities this fall, with tickets for its Nov. 8 concert at the 1stBank Center on sale at 10 a.m. Monday. ($25-$36, TicketHorse)
Dana Gould’s influence extends far beyond his name recognition, although casual comedy fans will know him from acting and writing credits on “Seinfeld,” “The Simpsons” and “King of Queens.” Tickets for his Comedy Works headlining sets July 14-16 are on sale. ($15-$23, )
