A 40-year-old man accused of trying to abduct three young boys last week in Boulder was charged Wednesday with criminal attempt to commit second-degree kidnapping, a felony, the Daily Camera reported.

Lwanga Basudde was arrested at the Carriage House day shelter Thursday. A hearing is set for June 23.

The attempted abduction was reported May 23 by three boys who said a man approached them as they got off a school bus and tried to entice them into going to Denver with him. Bassude allegedly grabbed one of them by the arm, but the boy struggled to get free and ran to safety.
