RADIUM — Authorities say an Arizona woman died while rafting on the Colorado River with co-workers on a team-building trip.
Grand County sheriff’s officials identified the woman as Susan Pyeatt-Terpening, 65, of Glendale, Ariz. Rescuers pulled Pyeatt-Terpening from the river at a campground near Radium on Thursday afternoon after a raft overturned near Needles Eye. Attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful.
Also Thursday, a man from Arizona was rescued at Rocky Mountain National Park after he was injured in a fall near Ouzel Falls.
The 53-year-old male from Chandler, whose name was not released, was about 2.5 miles from the Wild Basin Trailhead.
