Get wet at Gunnison River Festival.

The Gunnison River Festival will take place June 23-26 in Gunnison Whitewater Park. This festival is a mix of USA Freestyle kayaking, a costume river parade, downriver raft race, hooligan race, kayak enduro, raft rodeo, foam boat and Strider Cup bike races for kids. There also will be live music, yoga and a barbecue.

Go batty over bacon.

The Blue River Bacon Tour will be in Keystone June 24-26. More than 3,000 pounds of bacon will be on hand for sampling at the Bacon Showcase alongside live music and a bacon lecture. The Blue Ribbon Bacon package is available for $35 and includes admission to the three-day event, a commemorative hat, $10 in Bacon Bucks, a beer koozie, unlimited bacon samples, live music, bacon educational lectures and a free drink.

Annual Cherry Days in Paonia.

Paonia Cherry Days — one of the oldest continuously running annual outdoor festivals in Colorado — will be July 1-3. The celebration includes an old-fashioned parade and fireworks, sidewalk sales, a street fair, food, musical acts, arts and crafts, a 5K run/walk and a bike ride, the Cherry Cook-off, a wine class and street dance.

Frisco to stage art festival.

The third annual Downtown Frisco Art Festival will be July 2-3. View pieces from artists all across the country. Works on display and for purchase include glass, sculpture, mixed media, paintings, photography, jewelry, ceramics and more. Admission is free.
