A dozen firefighters responded to a fire at the Pikes Peak Pet Crematory early this evening.
The blaze was reported just before 6 p.m. by a worker at the business. The employee was using a newly installed incinerator and noticed flames on the ceiling near the smokestack, Lt. Jeff Sievers of the Colorado Springs Fire Department said.
“By the time we arrived, he had it pretty much knocked down,” Sievers said.
