Denver police are investigating a shooting that took the life of a man Sunday morning.
Police went to a home at 374 S. Yates St., in the southwest part of the city, after receiving a report of a shooting, said police Detective John White.
White said officers discovered a man, whose identity was not released, shot in the chest in front of the house. Paramedics took the victim to Denver Health Medical Center, where he died, White said.
The shooting may be related to a fight at a nearby party, according to White. After an altercation and exchanges of angry words, several people were leaving the party on foot when someone fired from a passing car, White said. No description of the vehicle was available.
