LIMA, Peru — Peru’s vice president- elect says the incoming government is studying whether to move ex-President Alberto Fujimori to a real prison from the police station where he has been jailed in spacious comfort since 2008. Omar Chehade’s comment Monday came a day after leftist Ollanta Humala narrowly defeated Fujimori’s daughter, Keiko, in the presidential runoff election. Alberto Fujimori is serving a 25-year sentence for authorizing death-squad killings and corruption.
