FORT COLLINS — A Colorado State University student was injured in an apparently random shooting Monday morning while walking with friends near the campus.
The shooting happened about 1:50 a.m. at Myrtle and Remington streets, according to a news release from police.
Police said Jamie Warfield, 22, was walking from downtown to her home with friends when a vehicle drove up slowly and a gunshot was heard.
She was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies with injuries to her midsection, according to police.
Witnesses described the vehicle as either a dark-color truck or a light- or dark-color sport utility vehicle.
