A man armed with a rifle and with a towel wrapped over his face robbed a Colorado Springs business early this morning, police said.

The armed robbery happened at about 1:50 a.m. at a Walgreens, 3480 Academy Blvd., according to the Colorado Police Department crime blotter.

The robber, who wore a black baggy shirt, white baggy shorts and “towel over his face,” pointed a rifle at the clerk and demanded money, police said. He fled west through a parking lot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police used a dog in an attempt to track the robber to no avail.
