FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Firefighters responding to a report of someone possibly drowning in the Poudre River in Fort Collins had to rescue one of their own after he became trapped by rushing water.
Poudre Fire Authority spokesman Patrick Love says a rescue swimmer was sent into the river to Monday night to check out the report, and got trapped between the rushing water and some stuck debris.
Love told the Fort Collins Coloradoan it took 10 firefighters to pull him out.
Love says firefighters never found anyone else in the river.
