Before he combed his Moe-Howard-haircut back, was elected to the U.S. Congress and had the Copyright Term Extension named after him, we knew Sonny Bono as one half of the lovable duo, “Sonny & Cher.” The two had their own TV show in the early ‘70s, not long after he recorded this PSA warning against marijuana use.
Over 30 years after “Reefer Madness,” Sonny tackles potap pitfalls here in song, words and golden silk pajamas. But his sleepy expression, slowed speech and half-lidded eyes couldn’t help but make us wonder if he might have been…nah, probably just a couple of Valium.
