DURANGO, Colo.—The Durango school board has approved pay increases for all the district’s teachers, support personnel and administrators for the next school year.

After months of negotiations with the two unions in the district, the District 9-R board unanimously approved agreements that included a more than 5 percent average salary increase for teachers and a 4 percent average salary increase for support personnel.

Chief financial officer Laine Gibson says the raises are possible because of a $3 million mill-levy override passed by voters in November.
