Aspen’s lift-served ski season has officially come to an end.
Aspen Mountain won’t remain open for another weekend of extended-season skiing, Aspen Skiing Co. officials decided Wednesday.
The extended period of warm temperatures have made conditions at the top of the mountain too “soupy,” said Rich Burkley, Skico vice president of mountain operations.
Aspen Mountain closed as scheduled on April 10, but snow conditions were so good that the Skico extended the season for three days over Memorial Day weekend, then reopened again last weekend.
