PUEBLO, Colo.—Pueblo may be losing its bus shelters after a Louisiana company decided not to renew its contract.
Lamar Advertising of Baton Rouge has had a contract with Pueblo for 16 years to provide 61 bus shelters around the city.
The company built the shelters, sold advertising space and gave the city 20 percent of the revenue.
Pueblo Transit director Brenda Broyles tells the Pueblo Chieftain that the city was notified by the advertising company economic challenges prompted the company not to renew its contract, which expired May 31.
The company will be removing its shelters within 60 days.
