The “Save the Dream Tour” stops in Denver today through Monday, aiming to help distressed homeowners lower unaffordable mortgage payments.
The Boston-based Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America is putting on the event at the Colorado Convention Center from 8 a.m to 8 p.m.
NACA said it has contracted with major U.S. lenders, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to find mortgage solutions for homeowners.
Darren Duarte, NACA director of public affairs, said typically half of the homeowners who show up leave with lower mortgage payments. NACA counselors will determine affordable mortgage payments, and staff members from lenders will work to approve those payments, according to NACA.
Proof of income is required to participate. Employed homeowners should bring 30 days of pay stubs, while the self-employed should bring their last six months of bank statements.
