Today and Sunday. Colorado clay artist Bob Smith will offer free demonstrations of Raku pottery firing at 11 a.m. on Martin Plaza at the Denver Art Museum. This event helps launch the museum’s new Marvelous Mud exhibit, running through September. A good airing out
Today. Plan to arrive early for the free National Get Outdoors Day events from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Denver City Park. Organizers anticipate thousands of people will turn out for the rock-climbing walls, rope obstacle courses, canoeing, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. This event is Colorado’s response to the nationwide push — spearheaded by Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl — to encourage physical wellness and outdoor adventure. Look for ski passes, camping equipment and hiking gear givaways.
