The University of Northern Colorado Board of Trustees approved the 2011-2012 budget on Friday, which includes an average 13 percent increase in undergraduate tuition.
“I don’t think it’s a happy decision for anybody,” said trustee Richard Gast. “There are a lot of middle-class students getting hit the most. It’s a tough decision, but until the state economics change, we’re faced with this unhappy decision.”
The $190 million budget includes nearly $7 million in increased revenue from in-state tuition increases and $2 million in out-of-state tuition increases.
