AURORA, Colo.—Authorities say the country’s largest electronic music party has caused only minor problems in Colorado in the past.

Bruce Williamson of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office says the Electric Daisy Carnival’s impact was next to nothing last year. The late-night festival is scheduled for Saturday at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds.

Williamson says the sheriff’s department will have several marked cars in the area while maintaining a presence outside the venue to calm things down before anything happens. He says about 7,800 tickets were sold for last year’s event.

The rave was denounced last July when a 15-year-old girl overdosed and died on the drug Ecstasy in Los Angeles.

The event’s promoter, Insomniac Inc., said on its website that it has a zero tolerance policy for illegal drug possession.
