A rave at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds got off to an orderly start this afternoon, although there was one drug arrest in a parking lot.

The Electric Daisy Carnival, a day-into-night electronic music and dance festival, kicked-off at 3 p.m. today and was scheduled to run until 2 a.m.

“The venue is going well, it’s very orderly,” said Capt. Vincent Sauter of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

As of about 7 p.m., Sauter said, there had been one drug arrest in the parking lot earlier in the day.

About 4,000 people were at the concert early in the evening, Sauter said, and the crowd was expected to swell to about 6,000 later in the night.
