
A thunderstorm is rolling through the metro region tonight. Doppler radar for Denver showed a storm capable of producing lightning and 1-inch diameter hail at 9:02 p.m.
The storm was moving northeast at 10 mph, according to the National Weather Service. A storm warning for Denver expired at 9:45 p.m.
The Colorado Rockies game with the San Diego Padres was postponed while the weather rolled through. The game resumed when the warning expired.
The storm was over southwest Denver at about 8:15 p.m. producing hail in Englewood and minor street flooding in other parts of the southern metro region.
The storm is capable of producing rain at half an inch in 30 minutes, forecasters said.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 11 p.m. for the Eastern Plains, including Elbert, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma counties, as well as parts of western Kansas and Nebraska.
Denver has a 10 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms Tuesday between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters expect daily high temperatures in the 80s all week.
