Arapahoe County investigators are trying to determine how a 2-year-old boy was missing for three hours, after he was found walking alone at 7800 E. Harvard Ave., almost one-half mile from his apartment complex.
At about 10 p.m., the child was reported missing from an apartment complex at 8111 E. Yale Ave.
The boy was found at about 7 p.m. and for three hours authorities tried to find a parent or guardian, appealing to the media for help identifying the child after no one had reported him missing.
He was dressed in shorts, a T-shirt and Crocs when he was found.
Criminal charges could be filed in the case, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department said tonight. Neither the child nor the parents were named.
The child was turned over to Arapahoe County Human Services for protective custody at about 9 p.m.
Anyone with information about the case can call the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department at 303-795-4711.
