PUEBLO, Colo.—U.S. Forest Service officials say water levels at Lake Isabel are expected to fall this summer as other waterways cope with flooding.

San Isabel National Forest Ranger Paul Crespin says there will be lower levels than people are used to seeing because the snow peak has passed . The forest service has been ordered by the State Engineer’s Office to make up the evaporative loss from storing the water.

Crespin told the Pueblo Chieftain that water levels currently are down about one foot, and may drop six inches more by the end of summer.
