Getting your player ready...

Chris Nelson and Charlie Blackmon each stole a base, and Troy Tulowitzki went 1-for-2, giving the Rockies 12 in 16 attempts at the midway point of the month compared with 13-of-22 in May. So why are they running more? Simple. They have more baserunners. They hit .255 in May but went into Tuesday at .269 in June.

Six hole for Blackmon.

Blackmon hit sixth after seven straight games in the seven hole. Now for the interesting part: There was a lefty on the mound and Blackmon hit ahead of Ryan Spilborghs, who replaced Seth Smith in right. Blackmon responded with a double and run-scoring single in his first two at-bats.

West stretch over today.

Today will wrap up a stretch in which the Rockies played 20 out of 23 games against NL West opponents. They’re 16-21 vs. the West, 9-9 against the Central and 7-5 vs. the East.
