BOZEMAN, Mont.—Montana State track and field coach Dale Kennedy says two standout athletes—one from Missoula and the other from Colorado—will join the program this fall.

Iris Hardarson graduated from Littleton High School in Colorado this year and finished fifth at the 5A State Championships in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.72. She was also a member of the 4×400 relay team that took the state title. The Lions’ time of 3:45.69 marked a new state record by more than three seconds.

Kennedy also announced Tuesday the signing of Anna Pershouse from Missoula Sentinel High School.

She finished first in the discus with a distance of 126-03.00 at the 2011 Montana AA Track and Field Championships. She also played volleyball and earned two letters for the Spartans.
